خلاصه داستان : « کارآگاه فیلیپ مارلو » ( مونتگامرى ) که از کارش خسته شده ، براى « انتشارات کینگزبى » داستانهاى پلیسى مىنویسد . ویراستار انتشارات « خانم ایدریان فرامست » ( تاتر ) از او مىخواهد که شوهر گم شده اش را پیدا کند تا بتواند با مرد دلخواه خود ازدواج کند .
Private eye Phillip Marlowe wants to get out of the detective racket and into crime writing.
